'Save a Child, Save the Future', an initiative taken by the students of MIU turned out be a grand success. The charity event MIU CHARITY RUN - 7KM JOGATHON was organized by the Foundation of Engineering students here at Manipal International University, Nilai. This event was organized to raise funds for supporting orphan children at Vivekananda Home. The funds raised will be beneficial to orphans and in providing higher education to poor students who have zeal in them to study.
Vivekananda Homes is an independent charity organization dedicated to provide shelter, food, education and guidance to under privileged children. Their main objective is to raise awareness on 'Child Abuse'. On top of that, the children of the Vivekananda Homes will be invited to join the fun as they too participate in the jogathon along with the others.
In addition, exciting performances were prepared for this memorable event to entertain participants after the jogathon. Participants also indulged in food and beverages sold at stalls put up by our very own students. Not only that, wonderful handmade accessories was also be sold at various stalls. Please be informed that a big percentage of the profit from the sales will also be donated to the children of Vivekananda Homes.
‘Save a Child, Save the Future’ is the theme we go by. These children are the future of our country and if they are well educated and brought up, they will not be a wasted life and shall also do good to the country.
