Manipal International University was proud to welcome The Honourable Deputy Minister of MOSTI, Datuk Prof. Madya Dr Abu Bakar Bin Mohamad Diah to its Nilai campus. The event turned out to be a huge success with the minister engaging the students with his very vibrant speech, presiding over the Installation Ceremony of the Student Representative Council and elaborating on Research option in the fields of Science and Technology with the Faculty members. 

The following members of SRC got appointed into their official post today in the presence of our Chief Guest Deputy Minister of MOSTI,  Datuk Prof. Madya Dr Abu Bakar Bin Mohamad Diah, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr PLNG Rao, Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr Zanuldin Ahmad and senior management members:

• Secretary: Divya Nandini a/p Velmurugan
• Treasurer: Nityaskandan a/l Kajendran
• SOSE Representatives: Tan Kok Kieng & Menaga Devi a/p Baskaran
• SOMB Representatives: Akewe George & Mahjabeen Fatima
• International Student Representative: Fatima Hafsah Jiffry 

Post the Installation Ceremony, the event went ahead with high-tea and elaborate discussion on the various research options in Manipal International University and ways for MOSTI to help with them. Honourable Deputy Minister also promised to support MIU to promote Science and Technology amongst school students.
