Date: May 04, 2022 |Published by: MIU | Category: News
What else other than the Final Year Project for Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering students to complete before graduation? The answer is the Capstone Project, or some known as the Integrated Design Project (IDP), which focuses on the design and development of a product. For the semester of October 2021, the student is required to perform a group and start on the design and analysis. The project continues the development activities from March 2022 until August 2022 to develop a functioning Go Kart.
What do they learn from these activities? Throughout the first part called Capstone 1, the student was exposed to the design stages and its process with project management knowledge in hand. This draws on a diverse set of inputs namely, engineering concept generation and selection, decision making, engineering economy, management and safety, health, ethical, and environmental considerations to produce a system. The activities continue to Capstone 2 which focuses on the implementation and operation of finalized design formulated in Capstone 1 which leads to the development of physical Go Kart.
Wishing the best of luck to all team!
