MIU hosted the '1 Malaysia Reading Campaign' in its campus on 4th November, 2014 to build reading habit among school pupils and teach lifelong learning. The event also aimed to encourage pupils to appreciate reading materials and make correct choices in selecting them.

The VVIP for the event was Tuan Md Fuzi Bin Abd Lateh, Pegawai Khas Timabalan Menteri Pendidikan II YB Tn P Kamalanathan. The event witnessed participation from over 57 schools, few of which are listed below: 

• SMK Dato’ Klana Putra
• SMK Mantin
• SK Dato’ Klana Putra
• SK Sungai Machang
• SK Ulu Beranang
• SK Sungai Jai
• SK Kampung Daching
• SK Mendom
• SK Batang Benar
• SK Mantin 

Not only the 170 students benefited from the campaign, but also the teachers who received valuable learnings.
